Dear [NAME]

ACADEMIC PRINCIPAL`S MESSAGE

Dear Parents

Welcome back to a new decade, a new year and a new chapter in the history of Grantley College.

I trust you all had an awesome December break and are now ready to hop back onto the treadmill.

The Matric results as you know were released on 7 January 2010 and I would like to congratulate them all on their achievement and to thank the parents of the 2009 class for their support to the College and their children.

We received a total of 4 distinctions this year  three in Maths Literacy and one in Life Orientation. These distinctions were earned by the following students:

Heidi Husi: 92% Maths Literacy & 85% Life Orientation
Oageng Lekabe: 83% Maths Literacy
Mandla Zwambile:83% Maths Literacy

Congratulations to Heidi Husi and Sean Naidoo who were our top achievers for 2009.

Thank you to all the Matric teachers who continue to ensure year after year that our senior students have the opportunity to achieve a successful outcome and conclusion to their high school education.

Our final result for Grade 8  11 2009 were also in the main very successful  and my thanks and gratitude must be extended to an academic staff who ensured that your children were ready to progress to the next level.

A big welcome is extended to our new families whom we formally invite to Welcome to Grantley evening on the 28th January. Your invitation will be issued early next week.

welcomeHere`s to a good year for all us and I am looking forward to working with you all in 2010.

GRANTLEY HAS A NEW WEBSITE

Visit www.grantleycollege.co.za to see our updated website which is one of the ways in which we  communicate with the Grantley community.

One of the changes leading from the development of the new website is this newsletter. Newsletters will now be integrated into the website and will be sent out in web format that can be read by email programs. Thus the newsletter will no longer be sent out in the pdf format that was used last year.computer

Other new functionality of the website includes:

  • A photo gallery of Grantley events, past and present.
  • The event calendar with details of upcoming events.
  • A document manager where you can download the latest assessment plans for each term and grade (and thus know when your child will be writing tests), exam timetables, and other documents of  interest.

Let us know what you think, and make any suggestions, by going to the Contact us page and sending us a message. We trust that you will find this new website more useful than the old one, and are able to get the information you need from it.

Please inform the College if you are NOT receiving the newsletter via e-mail by e-mailing Ms van Heerden an e-mail and in the subject line: Correct e-mail (Childs Name & Grade)
