Vision

To be the school of choice for students with learning difficulties and/or ADD/ADHD from Grade 8 to Grade 12.
Mission Statement
We aim to provide a sound holistic education in a caring community of educators, learners and parents. We are committed to offering every opportunity to bolster self-esteem, promote independent thinking, and build character.
Learners are encouraged to maximise individual potential in preparation for a successful future leading to a meaningful life.
Our mission is underpinned by the following extract from "Half our Future"
British Educational Report
“We deduce that it is not possible to generalise about the capacity of the average until we have had the opportunity of keeping them at school for a longer period and in smaller classes.
It is possible that the potential of these children is very much greater than is generally assumed and that the standards they could achieve might surprise us all.” |

Grantley College was founded in 1964 by Mr. Grant Levay who realised the need for a school that offered specialised education for high school students with learning difficulties.
The school has always been situated in Parktown, an old well-established suburb in Johannesburg. The school moved to its present location in 1990 when the then Transvaal Department of Education transferred the National School of Arts building by deed of donation to Grantley College, thus enabling the College for the first time to have a permanent educational facility.
Grantley College has a proud heritage and fine reputation of service to a community of families who desire to give their children a second chance at success. It is an independent, co-educational, non-profit school which offers mainstream education to children who have a learning disability and/or ADD/ADHD, and are experiencing a gap between their potential and actual achievement.
